They asked when the relationship began, whether Andrew supervised my reviews, whether he had implied career advancement, whether I felt pressured, whether any company resources had been used to conceal personal contact. I answered carefully because the truth was complicated in the most humiliating way possible: I had made unethical choices willingly, but not freely. That realization did not excuse what I had done. I had still crossed a line. For the first time since the scandal broke, I felt something other than shame.
I cooperated fully with the investigation. I turned over messages, calendar invites, and voice notes. Lauren did too. So did one of the women from the list, then another. What had looked like one affair became something far uglier and more systemic: a pattern of boundary violations, favoritism, manipulative promises, and retaliation by omission.
